Douglas Kuhrt : Contributing Artists

Douglas Kuhrt is a lighting Designer with an extensive resume and experience in small and mid- sized theaters well as West End and Broadway productions.

For Starving Artists he has designed Sleeping With You, Kissing Marianne, Road Movie, Viper’s Opium, Earthquake Weather, the recent revival and tour of Road Movie,  Days of Light  and the 2012 revival of Take Me With You.

Doug has just lit: Whole for 20 Stories High, Go Back For Murder for Bill Kenwright Ltd, Jack and TheBeanstalk for Liverpool Playhouse, The Blue Boy for New Writing North, Take Me With You for Starving Artists, Jigsy at The Tobacco Factory, Charlie and Lola for Polka Theatre and Broadway Enchanté in Paris.

Recent productions: The Pitmen Painters at the The Duchess Theatre in London’s West End, Rain Man for the English speaking theatre of Frankfurt and Days Of Light for Starving Artists Theatre Company,Cinderella for Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse and The Rise And Fall Of Little Voice for Hull Truck.

Other designs include: The Pitmen Painters on Broadway for the Manhattan Theatre Club, also at London’s National Theatre and in Vienna, Sleeping Beauty at Liverpool’s Everyman Theatre, the last Pantomine at the venue before its demolition, Why The Lion Danced for Yellow Earth, Kiss Of The Spider Woman for Hull Truck, Britain’s Got Bhangra for Rifco Arts at Stratford East and Road Movie for Starving Artist’s Theatre Company.
